A Brief History of Our Club

Castle Hill United Football Club began life in 1972 as the soccer division of Castle Hill Sport and Recreational Club.

Originally the club played on fields at Castle Hill Showground, but when the council decided to build new Council Chambers on this site, they constructed replacement fields in Fred Caterson Recreational Reserve. Initially only three fields were built, but as the popularity of both the sport and the club continued to grow, a fourth field was constructed. This was followed in 2002 by the addition of a fifth field.

In 1992 the club constructed its own clubhouse in Fred Caterson Reserve, adjacent to Field 1. This not only provided better facilities for our club players, visiting teams and spectators, but also allowed for State League games to be played locally for the first time. It also provides hall facilities for community use. The clubhouse was named “The Glenn Funnell Building”.
